Newest Quests - well, newest in awhile
« on: November 12, 2008, 05:30:29 pm »
;D  I'm guessing I missed something. I was on the search for a Yeti and although I've killed several, I'm guessing I'm not in the proper area. Any help would be terrific so that I can get on the right track. I'm in Jeriston.

Thanx

Have you only been trying to find a yeti?  Where have you been trying?

I've been messing around with a lot of odd theories, but so far nothing has been useful.

There are yeti (yetis?) in the high mountains and, I think, in the low mountains and green forests.

I'm guessing that we need something like 100 yeti hides to complete the quest.  Not every encounter with a yeti results in a drop of a yeti hide.

This quest is taking a looong time.

edit:  This is only a guess at this point.

Yes, I've only been looking for the Yeties.  I have gone up into the mountains, Jeriston, GC, and pretty much any area where the wiki says that they'll be. I don't know how many I've killed, but it doesn't look like I have any hides so back to the mountains.   :-\

I've been doing the orchards (pick fruit area) for yetis, decent rate I guess, I get a few hides per day (take that as 3-4 per 500 turns).

One thing that took me on a potential diversion early in the quest was when I went to Jeriston to see what the guild says about the quest and got a message telling me I didn't have enough beer.  I collected a ton of barley and kept returning to them.  522 barrel mugs of ale later and I gave up.  So, my question is, is there a recipe that uses barrels of ale?

Are you guys remembering to equip the Helm of Insight and Birthday Troll? I pick up 9 in 240 turns (I don't bother eating (or drinking)(or playing (usually))).

I have my HOI equipped, but I don't have a birthday troll. I'm in the mountains - I don't remember the town, but there is a transporter token for it - lol. I think I'm going to follow Keatorand look in the orchards because I'm not having any luck.

Closest orchid square southeast of GC, on the way to Northwood. Actually, didn't have the BT equipped myself; got 6 hides in 240 turns today.

Also try buffing? I forget which help.

Odd, put on the helm and troll and got 10 hides in 96 turns, also got 9 doodles.  Not sure if that is meaning they're included in the quest or if it's just chance.

EDIT: Decided to eat and drink, 424 turns later I have another 49 doodles and 49 hides. It definitely looks to me like both are necessary for the quest, but how.  Yeti Diddles?  Hairy puzzle?  I tried both in a variety of ways, no help there.

Got it.  But I needed one more hide than I had thought.

Does anyone know of any other quests in this set?

I think that's it, how many hides did it take?  I didn't even see.

101 hides and, surprisingly, no wooden doodles.

I just finally made it to Northwoods as I've been busy getting ready for Thanksgiving and then Christmas shopping. 590 turns and 39 Yeti Hides later and I'm outta moves  :( I'm assuming that we take the 101 hides to Jeriston though.

On another note, does anybody know if the 3rd anniversary quests done? I know its been a few months but way back when it was going, Orgret said that the rest of the quests were to come.

I think the end of that set was scrapped.

And yeah, take the hides to Jeriston.
