Passing of Dorotea [07/27/07]
It is with great sadness that I inform you that at 12:30am Eastern, Dorotea, a great friend and co-creator of Generia, has passed on.

I'd known "D" for about 3 1/2 years.  Not nearly long enough.

She'll be greatly missed.

Thank you for all that you have done, Dorotea!
I respect you so much and am very upset that you passed away.
You always had a nice thing to say to anyone no matter what.
We will love and miss you so very much forever and ever.

Goodbye.

To one of the finest women I have known.  I'ld like to post this poem by Edgar Allen Poe because we were both fans of Edgar, and Generia will always be our Kingdom by the sea.  Dorotea was always an inspiration to me, she was in my opinion the true soul of Generia.  She taught me many things that will not forget.

Annabel Lee
by Edgar Allan Poe

It was many and many a year ago,
    In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
    By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
    Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
    In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than love —
    I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
    Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
    In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
    My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
    And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
    In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
    Went envying her and me —
Yes! — that was the reason (as all men know,
    In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
    Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
    Of those who were older than we —
    Of many far wiser than we —
And neither the angels in heaven above,
    Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee:

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling — my darling — my life and my bride,
    In her sepulchre there by the sea,
    In her tomb by the sounding sea.

My heart weeps for the lose of such a great person.  I am glad all the pain and suffering of her cancer is finally gone.

I will miss you D,

With love,
orgret

She was one of the nicest people I've ever met, online or otherwise. I'm glad she can finally be a peace. Is there a memorial fund or anything that we can send to her family?

I'll drink to her memory tonight, at 7PM EST. There aren't too many honestly good people like that left in the world. Now there's one less.  :'(

I wish I had been able to meet her, and I wish I had finished my work in time for her to see it.

Be at peace Doro, you deserve it. I am going to miss you.

I am at a loss for words, that emoticon fits my emotions. I can say this though.

The first thing I'll do when land becomes purchasable, is raise a statue in her memory.

I was already working on one, but great idea SP.  There is a fountain in Generia City now, dedicated to Dorotea and all her great work here in Generia.

I know she will be definitely missed by me. I really enjoyed her company. The time I knew her I considered her a good friend.

I will say this: D is the first online-friend I have ever missed talkinig too, and her passing will be mourned.

It was sad to see her decline. She was a real marble to interact with.
Wish I'd met her earlier, wish there had been more time.
Only the memory remains.

Rest in peace my friend.

This is the first case in which someone i have talked to has passed away, with me knowing it. I am quite unsure what to think at this point. D has been a friend and in ways a mentor as she not only influenced my decisions in the game, but in life as well.

Rest well.

I will also miss her, and in fact, already do.

The fountain in GC is a good idea, but I think we should also rename a shopkeeper/city or something to give her a continuous presence in her world.
