Embarrasing newb stories

I noticed in the help thread there are some embarrassing newb stories surfacing, and I thought this would be a good place to share.

I did a lot of sightseeing when I was a newb... I walked to riverton, and cairnopia.  This was back when I was lucky to break 200 per rollover, those were some long walks.

anyone have any bad investment stories or such?

No bad investments, but I, too, did a lot of traveling, pre-wiki/maps.  I made it all the way to the eastern border, with <200 turns per rollover, and got totally lost.  As it was also pre-road signs, I didn't know where GC was located, had to ask Moldar for the coordinates and walked through the fields and hills, instead of taking the roads.  It took over a week and a half and I managed to miss the entire first Halloween quest.  :oops:

I've got an embarassing newb story. My first few weeks on generia was harvesting crops. Hoping to get about 30k (which at the time was the wealthiest person in generia) and at the same time buying lady luck skills, even though they don't affect the output of harvesting silver gains.

Other than that, I didn't adventure much, just rasied stats and skills first, mainly skills. By the time I did adventure I could kill alot of things.
